What’s Wrong With Women’s Studies?
Academic Feminism, Censorship & Men
Featuring Professor Janice Fiamengo
In Professing Feminism: Education and Indoctrination in Women’s Studies, Daphne Patai and Noretta Koertge present research showing how women’s studies has come to serve a political agenda, leading to deep problems: dubious scholarship, indoctrination, and the alienation of supporters.
Dr. Janice Fiamengo, U of Ottawa English Professor, discusses the problems of academic feminism at Canadian universities: dubious scholarship, indoctrination, dogmatic teaching approaches, limitations on free speech, effects of “equity hiring,” and the consequences for men in the humanities.

Dubious scholarship, you say?
No kidding. Have a look at the “scholarship” or lack thereof, in “School Success by Gender…” by Pierrette Bouchard, published by the government of Canada.
I sued them, and even the judge agreed that it was not factual, untrue, and defamatory.
See the judgment at http://www.fathers.bc.ca and please let me know if you want to know more about it. I have all the trial transcripts etc.
I read over most of the judgement portion of your case, but it looks like the judge let the feminists off the hook on the basis that the comments (although defamatory) were presented as their fair and honest opinion :/
P.S. nice image xD
Great to see that these things are coming to light. I have two questions:
Are Daphne Patai and Noretta Koertge giving a talk as well as Dr. Janice Fiamengo?
Will this event be properly filmed and youtubed for those of us hungry for quality MRA material but with no chance of attending?
All the best,
Sigurdur
Janice Fiamengo is the only person booked to give a lecture on that day. We are planning on recording the entire talk for Youtube. As soon as it is practical we will have video of the whole event online, whether it is Youtube or some other site.
Thanks for your comment.
I guess the voice for men website as more technical resources available. As they have posted video of the Doctor’s lecture there. I’m putting together a paper on advocacy and opponents as it relates to men’s rights. I’m using her lecture as a source of data.
Hi there,
Will I need to get tickets in advance or can I just show up to the door with my donation?
You can donate at the door. We’re not selling advance tickets this time. Looking forward to seeing you there.
I plan on attending, thank you very much for this event! I run a vlog called Gender Equality Grenade, it will be awesome to attend this event!
GEG is excellent Stefanie! ‘My rage cannot be contained’ esp. good response to the Farrell incident at UT.

Is this open to the public or only students?
It is open to the public.
Thank you so much for organizing this talk. It’s a timely topic, and one that needs deep exploration for the impact the current situation is having on society, and the mis-shapen thinking which has evolved from a one-sided view of victimization. As s female in the corporate world, I have watched many men passed over for solid promotions, and have seen women wondering why women were promoted – was it for their own knowledge and ability to do the job or because they were women? It damages both sides to not promote the fittest regardless of gender and weakens the very fabric of society.
Feminism and women’s studies at the universities and where ever else, always operated on an illogical and presumptuous understanding that they were responded and presented the opposite of what they viewed a men’s world and all things were build specifically for men and the truth of the matter, it never this way. That is men do not have a movement, never had a movement, did not control society as a whole, perhaps government and the work world were at one point highly dominated by men but, those days are long gone and justly so. Make no mistake hough, women had influence and were as much a part of that past as the sky above us. Things have never been set up to address exclusively men and now we are at the point, wherein we need to point such things out as; men do not have a federal department set up to address their needs or support groups all over the country and campaigns pointed out their issue, women do and as a result we have created true inequality.
There was an erroneous opinion back in the day, that the mainstream was the men’s voice, it never has been, it was always for some and not for others, this for the most part was not gender based exclusively, however roles did dictate where you fit into that, race, gender, political, financial etc… were what was valued back than. However, feminism and women’s study always presented them selves as the alternative and one that was there for women specifically and be damned with the rest, even though men never had anything, male specific, except those FEW things that were announced as such, they are mostly long gone now. Funny, I am writing this on international women’s day, there is no such thing as international men’s day! Feminism and women’s studies has always been an ideology that is gender specific and always knew that there was and still is not, nothing there for men, so truly, they intentionally went out of their way to create an inequality.
We need to get beyond this gender specific stuff, it does no good but, to create divides, sell lies for truths and creates inequality. I were are to be sincere about fair and equality we need to start at our schools of higher thought and get rid of this inequality creating curriculum and drop women’s studies. Equality for all!
Will there be a follow up article about this event?
