In the last few weeks two pieces of communications with elected officials reinforce how easily the wellbeing of boys and men are dismissed by politicians.

Firstly, Toronto City Councillor Cesar Palacio rallies the community to oppose the the creation of a temporary emergency men’s shelter in his ward. On the eve of an election, this is apparently a vote gaining project. According to the Councillor’s letter the City tried to sneak this motion in without due process. But one has to wonder how successful such a campaign would have been had it been an emergency women’s shelter that were being opposed.

Then the office of Premier Kathleen Wynne decides to pass on our request to support Parental Alienation Day. Apparently this cause just isn’t important enough to her.
