Why must our discourse on Aboriginal violence exclude anyone?

Men’s Issues Awareness at U of T presents CAFE Advisory Fellow Jen Mt. Pleasant. Jen studied violence against Indigenous women, then launched a database of disappeared and murdered Indigenous males. She is a member of the Tuscarora Nation and a Masters student at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Jen Mt. Pleasant is a member of the Tuscarora Nation of the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. She is currently a graduate student in the Masters – Social Justice & Community Engagement program at Wilfrid Laurier University. For four years, she has been involved in extensive research and awareness raising surrounding missing and murdered Indigenous women & girls. For the past year and a half, she has broadened her focus to include missing and murdered Indigenous boys and men and is currently compiling a database which consists of approximately 800 names of disappeared and murdered Indigenous males from across Canada.
