Who is CCMF?

The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is a mental health and social service hub delivering programs and services for boys, men, fathers and their families. Our vision focuses on three critical areas:
1. Reduce suicide among men at high-risk through intervention programs that confront the barriers that men face.
2. Empower fathers undergoing separation and divorce through legal clinics and fathering groups that strengthen the father-child relationship, while working to promote positive social attitudes toward fatherhood
3. Support men who are experiencing domestic abuse and work with other agencies to improve services for boys and men.
In addition to delivering front-line programs and services to families in crisis, we undertake evidence-based research, host public education and awareness activities, and work to improve public policies to better support all Canadians.

Daughter & Father

Canada Child Benefit

Did you know a low income single father can only access child benefits with approval from a female partner? The Government of Canada presumes, in the very article of the law, that fathers are secondary parents. Let's end gender discrimination in the Income Tax Act.

Look Behind the Mask

75% of suicides are Men. 100% of suicides are preventable. Even in the best of times, men often suffer from a lack of strong social networks. During a pandemic, social isolation can be a killer for men. Learn the warning signs and how to intervene effectively.

International Men and Families Conferences

We co-organize the annual International Men and Families Conference, featuring 40+ presenters from 20+ countries, focusing on father involvement, parental alienation, false allegations, male identity, suicide and mental health, family violence and the needs of boys.

Healthy Fathers. Healthy Families

Both scholarly research and the lived experiences of our clients agree. Healthy and involved fathers make for healthy and strong children and families. Join us for a week of exciting events every third week in June!

Testimonials

“CCMF has been an absolute life saver. Finally, to have found a guiding light in a dismal, seemingly endless tunnel of dark turmoil. Thank you to all staff and volunteers. I would be in a much worse spot and condition without your help and compassion.”

“The support from CCMF was of great relief to me at a time when isolation during COVID19 lockdowns and emotional issues with family was affecting my mental health severely. I was experiencing insomnia and anxiety but my therapist suggested activities and supported me to feel better.”

“The value to self-esteem, men supporting men, can’t be understated. CCMF provides a great platform to achieve this.”

“This is the only service I saw in my life which helps and supports men for recovery. Thank you so much for your brilliant service and help.”

“I was in a negative situation with my spouse and I had nowhere to turn. I was fortunate in my research online and I found the center of men and families and only they were able to help me in my time of need. Several other local help agencies were not there for me. I am thankful that I reached out to the men’s center.”

“Parental alienation devastates families. I’ve spoken to young fathers who were suicidal. There’s not much support, other than the Canadian Centre for Men and Families, for fathers who are alienated and trying to rebuild relationships with their kids.”
