The Canadian Association for Equality has created a new governance structure called “Commissions.”
We have long ago established various “Committees” focused on different areas of operations and programming, such as our Marketing and Communications Committee, our Research Committee, and our Campus Outreach Committee. These can be found here on our Leadership Page.
Commissions differ from Committees in that their focus will be on particular issues or groups. The inaugural Commissions will focus on CAFE’s 3 key priority areas: men’s health, fatherhood and families, and boys’ education. In addition, we have struck an LGBT Commission.
Update: Genna Ross, a longtime advocate for transgendered people and the disabled, has been appointed to Chair the LGBT Commission.
