I had the opportunity to meet with two of my former colleagues from Neil McNeil Catholic High School in Toronto. Father John Geary was one of my teachers and later my principal when I taught at Neil McNeil. Father Pat Fitzpatrick was my colleague when I taught there. This meeting was very significant, as these Spiritan priests operate schools for boys in schools in many countries.
The Spiritan congregation publishes a magazine featuring stories and articles about their members and their work. They are including an article about me and my work on behalf of boys that are underachieving in school in their next issue.
It was affirming for me to meet with these religious men who played such an important role in my life and in the lives of other men that I have had the privilege of meeting with during my Odyssey for Equality.
