About our Organization

The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is a unique new facility. We are an open, inclusive and safe space serving as a hub for services, workshops, research, advocacy, outreach and public education all focused on the health and wellbeing of boys, men, fathers and families. Our programs include counselling, peer support, legal assistance, mindfulness meditation, fathering, employment consultation, discussion groups, lectures and mentorship. The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is governed by the Canadian Association for Equality, a registered educational charity.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The COO is responsible for the creation, implementation, supervision and financial resourcing of the services and programs at the Canadian Centre for Men and Families (CCMF). The COO will work closely with and report to the CEO. The COO will also draft reports for the Board of Directors and attend operational and Board meetings as required.

Administration and Supervision of Programs
The COO is responsible for the creation, implementation and operations of programs and services at the Canadian Centre for Men and Families:

1. Liaise between clients and program facilitators to ensure smooth registration of clients in appropriate programs and services
2. Manage the overall schedule at the Canadian Centre for Men and Families.
3. Develop program evaluation measures and track key performance metrics
4. Manage volunteers working at the Canadian Centre for Men and Families, the volunteer application and evaluation process, and ensure the volunteer policies are kept up to date.
5. Ensure programs and services comply with legal, governmental and donor requirements

Financial Resourcing of Programs and Services
The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is brand new. The agency’s financial resources are underdeveloped but there is much potential for expansion. The COO will be responsible for assisting with growing the financial resources for the CCMF and its programs and services:

1. Develop a fundraising and advancement plan including vision, goals, strategy, marketing approaches and a donor information package
2. Research grant opportunities and draft grant applications to government and foundations
3. Develop an affinity program with corporate sponsors
4. Develop a business plan to respond to particular donor interest areas and projects
5. Work with our team on the implementation of fundraising events

Desired Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have a degree in one of the following areas or a related program: non-profit management, administration, business, social services, financial planning, fundraising management, communications, human resources, facility management, project management, public administration, public policy, governance. The candidate should have a high level of written and oral communication skills and work well both in individual and group settings. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in English and French.
