Important Note: Understanding Legal Membership in the Canadian Association for Equality
There is an important distinction between the legal status of membership and access to the material benefits which come when you purchase a membership application.
When you pay your membership application fee, you are immediately entitled to all of the incentives described on this page: free events, discounted conference admission and other material resources.
The Canadian Association for Equality bylaws provide the mechanism by which individuals who pay the membership application fee then become legal members in good standing. The Board of Directors must by ordinary resolution approve each new membership application. The Board reviews applications for membership once every three months. Once you pay your membership application fee, the process is automatic. If you do not hear from us, you may assume that you have been accepted as a member in good standing after four months from our receipt of your membership application fee. If your membership application is declined you will be notified.
Once approved as a legal member in good standing, you are entitled to all the legal benefits of membership, including participation in meetings of members and Board elections.
